Long term pick on a great company undervalued in a beaten down sector. Need for materials will return and this stock will give great caps points.

The steel mills are no longer in control. Six months ago I couldn't buy all the steel I needed. What I could get get was sky high. Now they have droped their price $230/ton and are begging me to buy. Things don't look good for the steel industry.

Real value you can hold in your hand. Great management. Commodities scarcity will be reemerge in the next 5 -10 years to swing to higher than historical multiples. Get close to Benjamin Graham territory in terms of P/B.

I am short the steel industry as a whole. Yes this industry has already gotten hammered; however, the US and likely the world is going to continue experiencing a recession. Thus, steel consumption will continue to fall...

Excellent history of earnings, dividend payment and increase, good ROE and buying at a multiple of 8!

Over reaction due to the commodity slump. Good long term investment, not a great 3 to 6 months investment.

Nucor Steel is not half the company is was six months ago, but the stock price is. Sure, the prospects for the economy are not very good as a potential recession looms. But Nucor has always done well during lean times. Many of Nucor's current valuable assetts were picked up for next to nothing during the downturn 10 years ago.

The forward P/E is a low 5 and this year is near to record profits, although they look to be tailing off somewhat. Historically, this is a 10-12 P/E stock due to the good earnings growth rates. The long term outlook still looks good, so I'm up on Nucor.

Nucor is oversold with scrap prices declining (their input costs) and unrelenting chinese steel demand taking a momentary breather after the Olympics. Declining steel prices would of course change this recd.

The fundamentals indicate that NUE is presently reasonable cheap. And steel will be needed in the future as well as in the past.

The recent acquisition of scrap steel recycling (david j joseph company) adds to their control of costs. They had/have cash to buy now when the buying is cheap. They are at their 52 week low-more or less. "technical analysts" are saying the target buy price is 36 dollars. I think the peak of pessimism is right now- and now is the time to buy.

OK, maybe watch for a few days or weeks, but buy now, and laugh for the next two years as everything goes up. In general, be bullish now and next year you will look like a genius.

One of America's most entrepreneurial companies. Stock price has been cut nearly in half and is trading near two year lows. When the economy turns and the demand for steel returns, Nucor will prosper and we will see the share price above $80 again.

I don't see the need for steel going away anytime soon and this company has proven over 10+ years that it can make a better return on steel production than most of its competitors. Nucor along with most commodity companies is currently dropping like a rock and I'm not going to try calling a bottom, rather I'll be accumulating shares as long as it remains below 55.
