My wife likes the winter 2006 collection, they finally replaced the spokespeople with some really popular actors, and the financials are depressed by a lot of bad news. Plus, it looks like this stock likes climbing higher late in the year.

This repeat Hidden Gems recommendation has been beaten down. For the past year, they tried to market their product using sexy and trendy appeal, despite their target of "fashion-conscious, value-sensitive women between the ages of 25 and 45." NY&C product appeals to their target demographic, but the marketing has missed the mark. The switch from Desparate Housewife Eva Longoria to Grey's Anatomy's Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey ("Dr. McDreamy") is now in place, their new fall line is receiving good reviews, and this company looks like it has finally discovered itself.

Charlie Munger could accuse me of "thumb sucking" and passing up a nice 20%+ pop in New York and Co. over the last month - but I'm still leary of this company, at least in the short term.

I started looking at NWY in the low $9s and asked my wife (the retail authority in our household) - she didn't have much to say other than the company is "lower middle market" oriented. With her less than enthusiastic report, and the continuing shuffling among the company's leaders, I think they have a little way to go before they can regain lasting upward momentum.

I'm really just digging into these guys but from reading the newletters recs and reading what others have said, I agree they are beaten down more than they should be and will climb their way back just fine

This one's been hammered for underperforming, but enough's enough. They can't keep making mistakes forever, but the price of the stock seems to think so.
