on My Watchlist
the type of chips NXP produces are essential for future technical development of a broad industry
NXPI is poised to capitalize on the "wearables" sector of technology - the next big thing! With a relatively low PE ratio of 40 with regard to NXPI's future growth, this will be a $200 stock within the next 3 years.
Make the chip for chip and pin credit cards, with all the security breaches we should speed up the conversion to chip and pin
NXPI semiconductors is a genius investment made easy. We are using cell phones for more transaction situations. Im sure most of you reading this travel by airplane. All those companies offer you to scan your boarding passes on your cell phone.
Besides NFC, company's EMV chip technology has the potential to boost earnings.
2014 Sabrient Pick
It is becoming a misnomer to name Technology as its own sector. More and more, technology is becoming part of all processes from finance to medicine to education et cetera. Instead, I aim to differentiate the processes and try to capture the different components that drive them. Over time, due to the nature of innovation, the processes change, die, and are created anew. NXPI reflects a piece of this.
Incredible technology and a 25-36% growth rate over the next several years.
Apple, Paypal, Google Wallet -- somebody is going to win big. Everywhere CCs are accepted and even away from civilization. Near Field Communication (NFC) technology by NXP could very well become the new standard, at least the most popular. We'll know when the next generation of cell phones introduces this technology. I think NXP is the most sophisticated and mature product, especially security, that's ready for the general public consumption. I'm betting that NXP is at least 50/50 in the overall market -- NFC chips are readily modifiable to adjust to whatever standard arises.
My First RB purchase
With the switch to credit cards with chips and "near field communication" I believe that NXP is well positioned for growth in the next few years
SBD pick, fool 5 starNetherlands 11.3 bil cap/69% debt to cap. Kind of high for me but growth est 25%, selling at PE 15, looks like a good deal on semiconductors. Their specialty is in near field communications
Number one in field, limitless potential.
3 words - near field communication
Because it is ready to play in the field of NFC.
