If history says anything it is that transports appear to be early cycle performers when a recovery occurs. If the price of crude oil remains low I think we will see the use of trucking more than the use of rail lines for transport. Also, Old Dominion maintains a sizeable multi-regional service center stamp that covers 200+ service centers across the country. This impressive establishment serves as a barrier to entry for new competition since it isn’t easily replicable. OD is poised to take advantage when the economy recovers.

Best run trucker in the country. When business returns they will lead the pack.

i will change to outperform in the low twenties, because for the long term this is a great company. It will survive and benefit from this downturn. Some smaller competitors won't.

Good basic core business qualities.

This company seems to have a good management focused on improving their efficiency ratios. Their success in improving these ratios are leading to lower costs, which is how they are beating the competition by offering their customers lower rates. I have confidence in their management to continue to gain market share through innovative cost-cutting measures.

A recessions a coming this summer and high oil prices are not going away since the falling dollar is to blame, and continued inflation is not going to bring the value of the dollar up any time soon. Burnanke was not helping this country by bailing out the crust of American society. Also, Bush's stimulus package didn't help the upward inflationary pressure that is killing this countries middle class. Sorry about my rant but anyway my point is to sell trucking since rail is about to take over from the high price of fuel.

Well run company expanding from its south-east roots. I'm hopeful expansion will lead to a turnaround from recent losses.

In the trucking industry Old Dominion is a recognized brand name. Thanks in part to their yellow short trailer trucks.

This stock is being unfairly punished very recently. With gas prices back down, the freight companies should start seeing profit benefits.
