ODFL continues to be the Best in Class in the LTL (less than truckload) industry. As the economy comes out of the recession more product will be shipped. ODFL has been growing consistantly for the past 2 years, which I expect to continue at least 10% per year for the next 3-4 years. They continually outperform EVERYONE else in the industry. Their service and claims are second to none.
They maintained their pricing during the recession and continue to make money, even while they are upgrading their fleet of trucks and equipment. They purchased several facilities at fire sale prices from competitors as they struggled to survive.. I would expect the stock to split in 2012 as they seem to want to keep it affordable for stockholders.

ODFL is consistently profitable LTL carrier which is currently doing a lot of business with WMT warehouses which tend to keep volume up in tight consumer times. I bought this stock back before it had a growth stock (>12) P/E but still like it.

A recessions a coming this summer and high oil prices are not going away since the falling dollar is to blame, and continued inflation is not going to bring the value of the dollar up any time soon. Burnanke was not helping this country by bailing out the crust of American society. Also, Bush's stimulus package didn't help the upward inflationary pressure that is killing this countries middle class. Sorry about my rant but anyway my point is to sell trucking since rail is about to take over from the high price of fuel.

Well run company expanding from its south-east roots. I'm hopeful expansion will lead to a turnaround from recent losses.

In the trucking industry Old Dominion is a recognized brand name. Thanks in part to their yellow short trailer trucks.

This stock is being unfairly punished very recently. With gas prices back down, the freight companies should start seeing profit benefits.
