Orthofix [OFIX], through subsidiary Blackstone Medical, is set to surge on news of the Obama administration reversal of the 2001 Executive Order banning most forms of stem cell research:

Should have gotten in a few days ago. Oh well, this is fine too.

Orthofix is a solid international player in the orthopedic and medical equipment market. The numbers aren't great on paper, but the forward P/E is at about 15, down from a current mark over 50. Given the aging population and growth in the health care sectors, one can expect to see a significant growth in earnings over the next year or two.
Recs
The equipment is expensive and with HMO's and companies not providing quality service to people, the stock will underperform.

Hunting through the garbage of large droppers, I found this one thanks to the article "Get Ready for the Bounce". After some research, it seems this one is fundamentally sound enough to recover from its recent troubles.

Strong company. Unnecessarily beaten down due to CFO resignation. Good ~ 10-15% upswing in the near term and more by the end of the year.

You have to have a little foreign investment exposure and truthfully I dare you to find a better run medical device company than Othrofix (and no...dont start spouting off stent companies at me). OFIX is growing long-term revenues and earnings at a 15-25% clip and they are trading at a mere 20 times earnings and 2 times book. Earnings estimates are increasing and the long-term technicals showing a rising uptrend with a straight line resistance (the bullish ascending triangle). I'd bet on a few upgrades and a breakout within one year to $70.

Orthopedic equipment provider: Healthy margins, 11.59% held by insiders, aging populace that is active and living longer, a more active populace in general, and an expanding array of products. This looks like a nice company to hold onto.
