+ Watch OME
on My Watchlist
The Company is a processor, marketer and distributor of fish meal and fish oil products in the United States.
Health foods aren't going away, and divisions of OME such as WSP are rapidly growing. Their product offerings are expanding and their P/E ratio of around 8 suggests they're a bargain compared to many of the 15-20+ offerings out there.
High momentum, Low P/E and E/E, Massive profit margins which could disappear over the long run, but that risk is mitigated by the other factors.
Strong fundamentals and growth prospects. Leader in his group. Severely undervalued.
This smallcap stock is a good value, growing earnings, insiders buying. Just reported their best quarter ever (in 100 years!)

Too small to pick for my services, but I'll take a flyer on this stock, seemingly well positioned to benefit from greater focus on health. If you have a moment, read the history of this company -- 135 years old -- crazy that the market cap is only $175m -- it's like they've only racked up $1m/cap per year! Kinda pathetic. :)Outperform.

The demand for fatty acid supplements as the baby boomers get more interested in the things that are good for them.
short term fall, will rebound around 8-9$
This is a gamble, but one I'm going to stick with. A lot depends on what happens with the gulf disaster..
OME fits my three ten criteria, and I like this stock a lot.A few months ago, my 3-10 was "telling" me this stock is a winner, but I didn't listen as OME trades at very low volume, and I didn't see any upside potential in its chart. After OME went up 50+% during the last 3 months, I've learned I need to listen to my 3-10.I don't think OME is going to be a huge winner, but it's definitely going to be a nice one.I consider OME my long term holding. Here is what can be found on Omega's website. I like it as it sounds very promising to me.Omega Protein Corporation is the world's largest producer of omega-3 fish oil and North America's largest manufacturer of protein-rich specialty fishmeal and organic fish solubles.Omega Protein markets a custom line of omega-3 fish oil, protein-rich specialty fishmeal and organic fish solubles for aquaculture, companion animal, livestock and equine feed manufacturers. We produce ultra-refined, molecularly distilled omega-3 ingredients for human food manufacturers, and we market branded fish solubles as agronomic plant food.Only Omega Protein has the custom products, expertise and resources to help your company take advantage of the proven benefits of omega-3 fatty acids and the superior amino acid profile of fish protein. We control every step of the production process—from our company-owned fishing vessel to our processing centers to our strategically located warehouses—we ensure product integrity, consistent quality and complete traceability. As a leader in the industry, we established the OmegaPure Technology and Innovation Center for research and development of new and profitable ways to integrate omega-3 fatty acids in food, feed and fertilizer formulations.
The high growth in fish meal and fish oil products may be over. But even if OME experiences slow growth or no growth, they are still profitable and cheap enough to be a decent investment.I always buy the Tropicana OJ with Omega 3 fish oil. Not because I think it's good for me, I just like the perversity of the idea. I think we're in an alternate universe and this is what happened in the main one:CEO: "Hey, what would make this delicious orange juice even better?"Underling: "FISH OIL!"CEO: "You're fired."
Fish oil kick today.
a couple of months ago i started taking fish oil pills as a dietary supplement to see if it would help my aching knee. i have been in pain for many years and often walked with a limp. it worked! after only a few days my knee is almost completely painless and the rest of my aging joints feel better. i did some research to find a company in the fish oil business. omega protein corp. is my choice for my investment dollar. i think my fellow baby boomers could grow this market for many years.
Farmers have switched soy bean fields to corn this year. Soy beans are up. Fish meal competes with Soy bean meal. Expect fish meal prices to rise.
