Does OMEX have like, you know, like really really big metal detectors? I saw an infomercial the other night advertising a metal detector kit for 3 easy payments of $59.99. Has anyone ever tried these? The lady on the commercial said that I could get rich finding treasure on public beaches and even in my back yard! I haven't bought it yet because i'm saving up for some new crocs and a timeshare in Florida.

A magistrate is not a judge (as being reported) and his decision is not a court ruling or order; it is merely a recommendation to the judge. With all the attention this case is getting, the judge will look long and hard at the facts and law before making a ruling with his name on it.

OMR has developed technology to enable it to explore for sunken treasure. It has made arrangements with foreign governments to retreive lost treasure and will keep much of what it finds.

The company just got the go ahead from the English and Spanish governments to try to retreive a large haul from what is believed to be the HMS Sussex, a ship that sunk in a storm in 1694.

It's an unusual company doing an unusual type of business. But, then again, there have been a tremendous number of sunken ships that have carried vast welth over the ages.

If the company makes a big score, this stock could take off, and make for a great Return On Investment. Or, as we in the pirate-sunken-treasure business say, -- a great AARRRRRGGHH-O-I.

Losing the Spanish treasure hurt but they have reasonable grounds for appeal. A reasonable gamble at this point.

Let us not forget here, even in the hype of their recent finding...these guys are treasure hunters! Give me a break. No reliable revenue stream. You may be better off rolling the dice at the craps table than investing in OMR.

Wild speculative stock. This is a specialist treasure hunting company who owns the very high tech equipment they use and are in control of as many variables as possible. The next project is ready to go and the take is likely to be spectacular. This is a small field and they are basically the only players. The company is essentially a specialized mining company with the added benefit that their operations have a great story to be sold through the media (e.g. Disney).

These guys have brought a high level of professionalism to the treasure hunting business which, up to now, has been operated mostly by fly by night amateurs and modern day thieves. They are very forthright and open about the risks associated with the business. Legal problems are expected and, the stock will probably fall a bit in the short term.

The business has learned from their prior experience in salvaging the "SS Central America" and have improved their business model so, long term prospects are good. There are thousands of high value wrecks scattered throughout the world which recent advances have made accessible. This company is at the cutting edge with very few competitors who can operate at a comparable level.

Go long or, buy when it is low then, keep an eye on the news since every time they make a new find, it hits the mass media and the stock will go way up.

i bought 500 shares 4 or 5 years for .50 a share and sold for 5 something a few years later. they will not have a have a large problem getting custody of most of the hms victory"s find as the uk and many peoplle whose name starts with sir are very interested in this find. and a possible billion worth of gold goes a lon way even if split a few ways

The asset ( their coin find of MAY ) is not on their balance sheet yet, because they are perfecting "Title". This is a very polished group of people, the directors of which are maritime Law Professors and authors. This company is going to gain several hundred million dollars in assets and it will be reflected in the stock. Additionally they are building an entertainment and content business out of their daily work. I saw them on Discovery channel and they came across as really terrific. I believe their traveling museum shows will fuel the company in between digging for treasure and it will be a stable performer with peaks when they find Gold.

Great people, Great balance sheet, interesting product.. Nowhere to go but up. I see $15 to $20 before it goes anywhere south....

This is my cheap gamble. OMEX is currently sitting on a claim that is in dispute but could potentially double or triple their capital structure if ruled in their favor.

Like I said, it's a gamble...

Speculative, but a long term play -- and spikes up occasionally for big gains.

Expect several good finds will start to pay off over the coming year.

This one is not my usual CAPS pick, but it does have a shot at a reversal of the outrageous decision by the Federal Magistrate who stole their their shipwreck treasure and gave it to Spain, which did nothing over the last 206 years since the wreck to show an interest in finding the ship or its contents until somebody else went to all the expense and trouble to find it for them. What a travesty; a perverted joke that should be overturned and may well be. Folk hero and treasure diver Mel Fisher of "Atocha" fame got his day in court and won it all in a Supreme Court reversal in 1986 or thereabouts. Is a wreck from 1803 so recent that the concept applied to the 1622 wreck is so radically different?
Anyway, that $400,000,000 will improve Odyssey's balance sheet some, since it is larger than its book value by ten times over. Worth a risk.
Buried treasure is more fun to follow than "suits" on Wall Street day after day.

OMR has an excellent business plan. There is billions in shipwrecks. The agreement with Spain means that HMS Sussex will yeild its fortune to OMR within 18 months.
