ON Semiconductor Corp. (ONNN)

Onnn has a little edge in a competetive field.

This is part of the mobile internet index that Cramer is touting I looked and figured what the hay its worth a shot to see if they grow they way he thinks they will. His thesis is that the mobile internet while be as big a game changer as the original internet was. Being a CTO I do not think it will be that big a movement but it will provide enough growth for his index to work just not be the huge bust out he thinks it will be. What your looking at is replacing every cell phone and laptop with a device that can connect to the internet at broadband speeds form just about anywhere in the US. The only problem I with his choice is that he left out HP and DELL and Lenovo the big laptop makers they will have a play and I am including them in my version of the index. It's been a flop so far but I have hopes.

He came out with his fourth speculative technology stock pick on CNBC’s MAD MONEY. His #4 pick for the basket is ON Semiconductor Corp. (NASDAQ: ONNN). He said the company did a monster beat of earnings estimates yesterday and gave guidance that was better than expected. It acted cautiously optimistic but Cramer noted two quarters of visibility. He said this stock should not have fallen today, and that was because tech sold off.

ON Semiconductor Corp. (ONNN) swung to a second-quarter loss - its third in a row - on lower sales and margins as well as one-time charges.

But shares rose 1.9%, to $7.65 in after-hours trading, as the results topped expectations and the semiconductor maker predicted third-quarter revenue above analysts' estimate.

The stock has more than tripled from a five-year low in November but is still down nearly a third since last August.

On has recently been struggling w/ the economy as most chip stocks have, but they are poised to recover more quickly than most due to their being able to accurately predict trends in their market sector ahead of their competition. When you consider that they also manage to produce products that are just a little bit better than their competitor's, well,... nothing like quality to boost stock pric.

ONNN is a leader in distribution of chips for China & SE Asia. As a tech leader it will help lead USA out of it's current recession. With a P/E of 3.89 this stock has only one direction.

On Semiconductor has a portfolio of diverse semiconductor products, some of them unique. Many legacy parts are still used and now only available from a few suppliers such as ON, yet they also provide technologies at the forefront of new product development. This provides a bit of stabilization to the vagaries of demand.

Breakout above 200 dma. Strong volume. Might be in anticipation of earnings on May 6th.
