Orbital Sciences Corp. (NYSE:ORB)

Orbital may have found new ways to fund its business, but it has failed time and again to test its rocket, much less fulfill on CRS obligation. Hoping to renew CRS in 2014 depends on much testing ahead of time, setting timely achievable launch dates, and hitting the target(s) with every launch. Orbital has not done this over the last two years, I do not think they will suddenly now.

I guess I'll call this a play on the future of space. We will see...

Orbital specializes in small spacecraft and launchers - the type of activity likely to see an increase from the DOD as Defense budgets become tighter. Also expect them to performa well on a major space station resupply NASA contract, which can lead to more of same after this one is completed.

Its the upcoming space race.... Toby and I of TKT investments plan on initiating a 1 percent ownership of Orbital Sciences within the next year or so. This company will either succeed or get bought out.

Deals with NASA, upcoming launch in November.

Not a solid, absolute outperformer, but with the end of the American manned space program, private industry is going to step in to fill the void. It may take time, but it *will* happen and Orbital Sciences is in the place to do so.

SpaceX will leave Orbital a pale red dot amongst the stars...

they're poised to be the leader in space travel.

with the exit of the primary competitor to its new Taurus II (the Delta series rocket) for US payloads at least the Taurus will have a competitive edge due to its links to the Gvnt use of refurbished pre manufactured engines and increased demand for both public and private satellite launches

Love rockets. Recent aquisition of General Dynamics. Trading below 10 day to 200 day moving averages. Wish they had a dividend.

This met a high level screen to indicate a buy and strong outperform against its peers (other tickers in its industry). My 1st version of this spreadsheet devles deep into the company's balnace sheet and recent income statements, combined with other relevant price data for the company including insider/institutional holdings, short interest, debt levels, etc.
Testing capabilities of this 1st version of my automated, valuation spreadhseet matched with my personal criteria and see how it holds up.

Showed up on a screen for solid 5 year growth with low debt, cash on hand and still at attractive P/E ratios.

ow relative PE, good chart, star ratings & 2010 earnings. Bottom fishing week of 10/26.

The price is great and there is plenty of room for growth even as the DOD et al makes cuts there is always another technology on the way to make a difference on the bottom line.
