I work in enterprise IT. Oracle is sticky. Companies are not replacing their oracle database systems within the next 10-15 years. Companies are storing more data, deploying more enterprise applications. the oss mysql/postgresql might be making headway on the edge of network but no one is replacing oracle. Also if you have a entire team of oracle dbas introducing a new db into the mix can quickly cost you.

If most of the people at NASDAQ say it's going to go up, it's probably going to go up (consensus is $25 within one year.)

When economic going recession, most company need less software or tech for their usage. But when ecomonic bounce back, that is when they start demand newer and efficient software. I believe that this company will strike back in times.

All major companies whose software is implemented in Java have Oracle. Excellent support and Oracle has entered SOA where all the money and jobs are.

I should have had this stock as an outperform pick a long time ago. I like to the product. I like the company. I don't like the CEO (Larry Ellison). He hits me like an Ex-Lax. However with recent acquisitions and continuing demand for middleware, I predict strong growth for this company over the next few years and beyond.

I've been watching ORCL for some time now and I like what I see. It's immediate future is cloudy because of a possible furthur correction but it's future is all steam ahead. It's long term chart looks good and it's fighting this current downturn. I think it will take some time but will outperform. It is one of the best companies out there and Larry Ellison is no fool. Patience!

I think Oracle is a strong buy right now.
In a few months the stock will cross $25. In 2007 when companies start new budgets, with the economy showing overall positive growth, they will buy more I.T product and services thats when Oracle sales will improve more than expected.

Oracle, a well-known and trusty database company, has grown in popularity. DoD, banks, and many other large industries that need a database solution, look to Oracle for their service. As Apple (although not related to Oracle) continues to become more of a competitive edge against Microsoft, Microsoft's database and computing systems will lose popularity. This will help with more and more customers turning their service needs to Oracle.
