Strong orders, plus messing up for 3 quarters...equals huge profit margins. Products include suv like trucks...already has climbed a lot but still could go to 50.

Oshkosh Truck continues to beat it's competitors in the crucial government bids with its key Defense diviision. The "smart money" had written off Oshkosh Truck as too small to supply the government with enough armored vehicles for Afganistan and Iraq. But Oshkosh Truck is actually ahead of schedule in its production of these vehicles.

All good things must come to an end eventually. After 300%, this is as good a time as any for that to become a reality.

trucking industry. sold short OSK today in real life portfolio @27.8/share. Was surprised shares were actually available to short. Reduced position in my BGU short to balance my net short exposure.

Thanks to TastyLunch for bringing this one to my attention. The financials don't look so good to me. A $2.5B debt load on revenue of $5B, an anemic RoA of 2.1%, negative RoE of -171%, -20% profit margin (and I expect this to fall more), a crappy EnterpriseValue-to-Revenue of less than 1 (0.73, to be exact), and a high EV-to-EBITDA number of almost 13 -- all of that doesn't spell good news even in good economy. I like the company's vehicles, but I think when this market turns south after October 2009, we'll see OSK giving up a lot of the gains it'd just taken in this crazy 5x jump since March ($5 to $25? are you kidding me?). Way overpriced. If I were an insider, I'd be backing the trucks up and dump-dump-dumping those shares. Thumbs down!

With the military orders and the need for new commercial trucks alone will propell this stock into at least the high $40's. If it gets more military orders for the remaining $3billion of the one outstanding truck order and the possibility other new orders will send this into the high $60 low $70.

What's wrong with you people? This is one of the easiest red-thumbs ever.

Just look at the excellent quality of the product and the demand, can't see any reason not to soar. Have a great feel for this. I allready own several shares and am going to purchase more tomorrow, can't see any reason not to.

Good company. Heard a lot of positive news about it before it crashed.

MF-SOTD at start. If Government Motors isn't building it, who? These little guys stand by with tools ready. Some off-shore competition and a chance with technical innovations that others will be wanting.

This company will turn around when the economy does.Be patient and accumulate shares.You'll be glad you did.

Lots of debt to not as much cash...does have a product for industries that will never ever go away...and regardless of economy the equipment needs to be maintained.

Military has to replace all those trucks it's worn out the past 6 years

Transportation industries will begin to bounce back soon. They manufacture a decent product and should see good growth, especially within the European markets.
