going contrarian here. sometimes I like a stock and the market hates it. In this case I am not a huge fan, but the market seems to like this perennial loser somehow. I guess if you wanna look a the bright side it did have a positive quarter finally and its losing less money than it used to....

This internet based company is popular and is coming back from its downward slump. It is now even with the market and is still on its upward swing.

Crazy synergies when (not if) they get bought out by Amazon.com later this year... This company is CHEAP (300 mil?) for a huge company like Amazon that can use it to move excess inventory or expand the auction segment of the business. Consolidation would DRAMATICALLY cut costs of the struggling overstock.com and provide great value and growth for Amazon...

I'm not quite ready to jump in on my brokerage account, but after this one takes a bit more of a beating, which it likely will with fears of recession and a slightly disappointing quarter or two (which will likely be overblown), I'll devote some real money to it. Looking for an enterance about 9.50-10.50 depending on sentiment.

Overstock has been improving slowly but deliberately over the past few quarters. Q4 is traditionally when online companies generate cashflow profitability for the year. Nothing shows me Overstock will not continue to improve.

Anyone who is familiar with the OSTK story of the last 2-3 years probably has a very strong opinion about the CEO PB, naked shorting and OSTK the business.
The OSTK message boards are the most heated I have ever seen.

It is often said that we should not fall in love with our investments, the opposite must also be true.

I picked OSTK to outperform the S&P over the next couple of months all the way to the end of the Q.
IMO, keeping a cool thought and trying to keep emotions aside will prove if this was a correct call or not.

At this point, no one really knows if this business will take off in the next couple of years but I am betting that in the short term it can inflict some damage to shorts

Things are looking good there. I think they will blow the top off this season.
