They create organic LED's which are supposedly the way of the future. They have strategic alignments and some decent patents. I am all for this one to outperform in 2 to 5 years.

I like the technology - light weight, cheap displays and other cool lighting ideas. I think it's a ways off, but I'm sticking with it.

This company is ahead of the competition in bringing products based on their technology to market. They hold the highest % of OLED patents and have a solid balance sheet and improving cash flow.

OLED is still being discovered. Only when real products come to market (Apple's iPhone) will the stock reflect the value of its IP.

It is highly unusual for one small-cap fund to be on the brink of revolutionizing two distinct but vitally important and lucrative industries. PANL is such a company.
Their PHOLED displays will transform the display industry, from tiny 2 inch displays all the way up to HDTV screens. The prototype that was designed by Sony, and displayed at 2007's CES conference, wowed all the audience. Although it is 4-5 years away from mass production, Samsung SDI is currently mass producing small screens ( in devices such as the Clix2 mp3 player from IRIVER) that are getting great reviews.
Next, their PHOLED technology also will transform the lighting industry! Here's how: the incandescent bulbs that we have used for a century are highly inefficient in terms of energy. So the market is switching to fluourescent bulbs. But a white OLED (a WOLED) has the ability to be even more energy efficient than either of these types of bulbs, or an LED bulb. PLUS, a WOLED enjoys a unique form factor: it is incredibly thin like a piece of paper. It will take up virtually no space, which is important in small rooms. Plus, it is planar, meaning it gives off light from its flat surface, in a uniform manner. This makes for a more even distribution of light. Highly desirable.

texas instruments will get part of the action, but these guys are focused on what will be a revolution in cinema and home TV screens.

Organic LEDs are the way of the future. The amount of power saved by converting all the world's incandescent light bulbs to LEDs is mind boggling. It's only a matter of time before incandescents are obsolete and LEDs light the world. Not to mention the opportunities OLEDs provide such a flexible, brilliantly lit screens as thin as a piece of paper.
