This stock has fallen from it's high because of the financial/accounting trouble. If the financial issues are resolved, then the stock will rebound quickly. It is puzzling why the issue has been taken so long to sort out....more than 6 months now...with little news release on details. I hope something is released soon.

Verifone Holdings, Inc. has has been on a sharp decline since December of 2007. Profit margins are down, but sales are still expanding on a rapid pace as they are a global leader in secure electronic payment solutions. This industry is only growing more and more. The large decline in stock price was due to a delay in the annual report to the SEC. After a inter-company investigation, VeriFone restated its earnings with a large reduction in inventory, thus reducing their gross margin and operating income. They "dumped" many of their expenses into the 2007 fiscal year. With inventory now being properly recorded, Cost of Goods Sold will now be correctly valued, resulting in the gross margin percentage starting to increase. I expect this stock to rise at least 10% in the next month.

Verifone is the cream of the credit card pos terminal crop, and this is the reason that they will bounce back to prominence.

VeriFone -seen as local as McDonalds credit/debit card readers and as large as retail banking locations. Very reliable stock able to level out over the current market conditions. Growth is phenomeninal looking back at the history of the company.
Today's Market- corporate America leaps and bounds but some things -access to our bank accounts in at a fashionable fast pace- are not going anywhere. The trend to use a credit or debit card to pay for burger and fries rather than bringing cash caught on like wild fire and has not seen a dark cloud until the money runs out. Great as a long term balancing act to carry through some of the other market up and down times.

Oversold due to inventory/accounting concerns. Will rise when that is cleared up as LDK did

Uncertainty and tax loss selling has driven this stock down, they could report bad news when they restate their earnings and the stock would still go up
