next round of completely overpriced stocks. companies are overextended in their balance sheets & stock prices. Expect them to underperform the S&P 500.
VCI (already existing pick), VPRT, NETL, PAY, BLKB, LULU

this is an interesting play. the world seems to be going more and more to a cashless system of paying for things. i see this company as a market leader in this arena.they are found in stores, banks ,even cabs. they are international. more and more, they are gaining market share like wild fine.
i see this company in te future like a walmart or a proctor and gamble(where everyone not only knows who they are),but in some way shape or form, everyone uses their services at one time or another.

The bad news is already reflected in the price, This in a one time issue and a year from you will all thank me.

They need to learn how to manage their finance department.

Oversold due to inventory/accounting concerns. Will rise when that is cleared up as LDK did

Uncertainty and tax loss selling has driven this stock down, they could report bad news when they restate their earnings and the stock would still go up

As of today JPMorgan said the stock is still a good investment. With business in over 100 countries (North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia/Pacific, and Latin America) this company is to large to falter much lower.
Drop is due to accounting mistakes not fraud; will bounce back a portion to where it was.

go buy it
dont wait

Big company, the accounting problems are going to be minor. Close to a 50% drop in the price, translates into BUY for a company like this. Give it a couple of months and it will go back up. I'm going with it

Give it a year or two, I'll make some pts.

VeriFone -seen as local as McDonalds credit/debit card readers and as large as retail banking locations. Very reliable stock able to level out over the current market conditions. Growth is phenomeninal looking back at the history of the company.
Today's Market- corporate America leaps and bounds but some things -access to our bank accounts in at a fashionable fast pace- are not going anywhere. The trend to use a credit or debit card to pay for burger and fries rather than bringing cash caught on like wild fire and has not seen a dark cloud until the money runs out. Great as a long term balancing act to carry through some of the other market up and down times.

Long term debt makes me a bit nervous, cash flow is also somewhat of a turn-off, but Verifone's system is becoming increasingly popular, for one, among taxi companies. I would look at about $20 over the next year or so but more like $40 over the course of 3-4 years.
Recs
Beat up with all the consumer stocks. But, Verifone is about a change in the way people pay. This story is intact.

Reports TUES. 6/2/09. Last couple of quarters have been good so I'm pretty sure this one will be positive.

Earnings expected to be good on June 2nd report at 4:30 eastern. Considerable insider purchasing prior to earnings announcement.
