Although I own CEO, I felt my portfolio needed a little more oil to keep the Tin Man running quietly. Petroleo Braziliaro (sounds like a Shakespeare character) won the play-offs against a cast of thousands. If I buy any more Brazilian stocks, I'll have to move down there just to be close to my money.

I hope its ok to say I am plugging this as it is a overweight in my holdings. Just buy it. - no in all respects, even though at this time it is not cheaply priced, It has a unique position and material advantages in the largest economy in south america - brazil. Given that the Ethanol questions can be answered in brazil (maybe not in other places) it has a place as a green play as well. Principally, I think the reserve bets it has going now may prove to go good, or bad, but the distribution advantages it enjoys over the other petros in the south plus good management and passionate peope will pay off in the long run. Im going to try to keep in this one.

kf likes it.

At 15 years, Petrobras has a reserves/production ratio that is far greater than the industry average, suggesting its reserves are sufficient to support production for a long time.

There aren't too many roads like we know them in South America. We would probably never even drive there to see with our own eyes. However this company in Brazil is fast becoming the Very next in line, to become The Worlds Next, Saudia Araiba ! They released news of a Huge find of oil, and guess how much cheaper it will be to get it from Brazil to us...? Grab it now. I see this thing going to Googalisious numbers per share!

Oil is a dwindling commodity, oil that does not come from the Mid-East is less likely to be affected by geo-political crises and futures will sell.

Protected Market outside of the U.S. where oil demand will be accelerating in the coming years.

This company also has access to resources and oil fields that equivalent U.S. firms don't, I believe the worldwide demand for oil is here to stay.

The Brazilian gas and oil giant will outperform the S&P500 thanks to its thriving drilling business. Being a leader in offshore drilling the company does not only do exploration for itself but is hired by others to do it as well. Still PBR has found some of the biggest offshore oil deposits this year. With increase in oil prices the company will defenitely outperform the S&P for the year. Even if oil prices drop back down, the company wont be hurt that bad.

Nice motto. Not sure how that works, but I like it.

The fed interest rate cut today (10/29/08) is going to force the value of the dollar down lower. This is related to crude oil prices since oil is traded in USD. If the value of the dollar is lower, the value of oil must go up in order to compensate for the loss of the dollar.

Today, crude oil is up over 6% worldwide. Today's announcement by the feds is going to be an added bonus to OPEC's decision to lower production. In addition to that, OPEC said they will continue to reduce production in the future if oil prices do not go up. This means they are determined to do what it takes to make oil go higher.

For once in my life, I want gas prices to go up. I've invested nearly all my portfolio into PBR and will continue to pour money into it.

This is a VERY SAFE INVESTMENT. Don't trust me, trust the facts.
