In the last 3 years (from 2013 trough 2015) I have booked somewhere between 15 and 20 hotels, apartments & houses - in Europe - trough Booking.com... and I love it in every way - really professional - from searching & booking to canceling and customer service (if needed) - even the hotel-owners I have met really enjoy doing business with Booking.com, and describe them as really professional & effective/efficient...

I have also booked 7 cars through Rentalcars.com in the same period... rental companies in Europe (every single one of them), can be really "difficult" at the least - and it's really nice to have a big company like PCLN to cover your back...

... and 5 out of 7 times, prices where significantly lower than I would have previously expected...

I expect the company to do great for many years to come... but I don't see the stock exploding any time soon... I'm expecting a relatively slow linearly (non-exponential) growth, in exchange for a relatively low-risk profile.

Market "correction" of last few days seemed like a good buy opportunity (at $1190) for a stock that has an average (based on Reuters, Argus, S&P, & Credit Suisse estimates) 12-month target of @ $1475. Even discounting that target by 10% still gives nearly 12% return from today's price. Also PCLN has excellent ROE and strong free-cash-flow and EPS growth. Could be a bumpy ride for the next year or two, but I think this is going to grow & grow going forwards.

i think priceline is cheap. a strong dollar and the recent euro nuttiness is putting a dent in business but priceline is making its money.

Travel growing at 2x GDP. Bookings are moving online. BookingSuite and OpenTable provide stickiness with businesses as Priceline provides full backoffice support.

Priceline has a lot of really great things going for it. They continue to improve their network of travel participants. The additional of Open Table is a great fit for the things that Priceline is trying to accomplish. They generate huge cash flow on incredible margins, and they have a nice cash pile to facilitate continued growth investing.

If this were the end of the story, Priceline would be worth 1500 a share or more. However, Priceline is HEAVILY dependent on Europe for its revenue. The decline of the Euro, Russian imperialistic risks, along with the continued possibility of a Greece exit from the Eurozone continue to weigh on the stock in the form of risk and dampened growth.

I am not personally invested in the stock due to these risks, but I absolutely love the fundamental business.

Big drag at the moment is the strengthening US dollar against the Euro and Pound Sterling. Last quarter, gross bookings in constant currency increased 26%, but thanks to a stronger dollar sales only increased 12%. As 94% of operating income is earned outside the US, recent currency movements have really hurt (and could hurt in the upcoming few quarters or years). But, setting that aside,

The business is still growing at a nice rate, addressing a huge market, buying back shares, investing in its technology, adding hotel partners, etc... Over time, I think that currency fluctuations are likely to even out, so I think this should be a market beater over the next 3-5 years from today's price of around $1200/share, which is 26-times last year's earnings. For patient investors willing to wait, this looks like a good oppty.
