As coal prices increase over the next few years PCX will be in the perfect spot to capitalize on excess demand...

Like Real Estate, Energy will remain strong for awhile before going down. Real estate remained strong for over a year after warnings of a bubble.

Yes,coal is up but so is the cost of mining!!! labor, fuel, tires, equipment, ANFO ect. these same comments were said three or four yearsago. stocks went up then 10K cameout and dowm they came. because cost tracked up with coal prices. this is not the coal boom of the 70,s coal will have to go $150 a ton that will not happen. gov. reg will also keep companys from being able to reach high production rates i.e. army corp. permits are slow in coming look at W.Va., Ky. see how many they have issued. companies are paying hugh prices for them which is millions of there bottom lines. be very careful or you will be the fool!!!

Coal is in high demand, and is a good counter to rising oil and gas prices. Coal provides more than 50% of the US electricity and will continue to play a huge role in providing energy in the Us and around the globe including China. As world wide demand for cheap fuel continues to increase, the price of coal will start to rise slowly. Patriot Coal has locked in contracts from the parent company BTU and will definitely swing to a profit in a year or so. High demand for coal will bring about a higher realized price and the expansion of mines will soon add to greater out put. The spin off would not have occorred unless there was a good potential for profit.
