Service sector for oil and gas will continue to grow as price per barrel stays above $90.00 per barrel.

Because I'm wrong!
Recs
Though we should and will be moving into renewable energy sources, I just can't see oil demand dropping much any time soon, especially with India and China as big players
Recs
Buying it for the dividends, ability to withstand financial hard times, and because the stock already has disaster priced into it. With any luck, it will be able to consolidate its market position in these lean times and be positioned for success when natural gas prices go back up.
Recs
Stake in Canadian oil is enough to force my hand in this one. The low price helps too...
Recs
Oil. Canada. High dividend. Bottom fishing? Oil services seem to have been beaten down recently, this one seems to be one with a corporate structure with advantages.
Recs
Effects of impending tax trust legislation and higher royalty rates fully discounted into stock at current prices (~$16 as of this post).
Attractive (~10%/yr.) distribution is sustainable, even with further moderate drops in drilling activity from these already depressed levels.
Low debt, with a still-solid balance sheet and solid management history.
Although, short-term impact is minor, movement of some rigs into U.S. market (where dayrates are higher) will help offset weakness in core Canadian market.
Thus overall, this stock is well poised to benefit from any uptick in natural gas prices from current depressed levels(and thus drilling activity)in Western Canada.
Any uptick in natural gas prices, changes in the proposed tax trust legislation, or proposed higher royalty rates will be very positive for PDS' share price. Combining these factors with the sustainable 10% distribution makes this an attractive long-term (2-3 years) value play at current prices.

its a crime getting this dividend and with a chance for a double in the next two years....

This stock has two black eyes from the beating it's taken the last year and a half. I smell turn around. Sounds like they have a new CEO at the helm and he is screaming change. Well anyone who watches a good political debate yawns at the word "change"...everyone loves to throw that word around for a nice applause. Even though canada's tax has been harsh it appears that he is going to keep advancing the company. The US portion of the company has expanded and perhaps this is what they need to get going again.
They near their 52 week low and they have a low P/E.

Reasons I rate this stock an outperform:
- PEG approx. 1.1
- stock near 52-week low
- Hot sector
- Unfairly punished by announced regulations that are still years down the road before they take effect
- > 9% dividend yield

Re-upping this one after the unjustified sell off. Numbers still look good to me long-term!
Recs
Excellent opportunity at current price. I lilke their dividend, tax notwithstanding. The world is hungry for energy, so it seems downside risk is minimal over the long haul, and upside potential is significant.

Great stock good discount

Very Low forward P/E and nice dividend. I believe this stock is undervalued.

Super Canadian driller with solid dividend. Buy.
Recs
Wow good dividend and a dip is price. Debt to Equity is great and Oil drilling should be good the next couple years.

Temporary softness in the natural gas market has led me to increase my Precision holdings. The MF folks like to talk about megatrends (such as banking) for investing. I agree with their assessment of the richness to be had in the financial world, but my engineering background has always drawn me to energy issue. Despite Mr. Market's overreaction to the Canadian government's plans for taxation changes, I think this company will continue to gather strength and enrich its owners.
Recs
Until natural gas commodity becomes short supply noit much action with pds
Recs
I don't see how this stock can go lower. I think its a good stock to be in if your worried about a market correction now because of the yield and the P/E it would seem like this stock is a pretty safe bet from losing ground but could make a fairly big turn around if we get some good earnings news and the market remains strong.
Recs
Just off yearly low. Undervalued, nice dividend
