no good fundimentals and no true growth potential

California sues major car companies. EtOH cars sales are growing fast. PEIX will produce in the state (and others) dependence of oil in the US needs to decrease (if trade deficit is to turn around). Ethanol fuel is the only industry I know for sure that will grow x2 or x3 only on the MTBE replacement - for complete E85 conversion US has not enough land to produce corn, but E10 by 2012 is fine for me. Oil prices will determine the profitability of ethanol and guess where oil prices are going? The US could not increase production, Chindia is becoming thirsty too

good ehtanol company

Quarter owned by Bill Gates. Arnold Swarzenegger stood in front of Pacific Ethanol to announce new California Energy policy to produce and use only California produced renewable fuels for the future. Pacific Ethanol can handle any form of ethanol - corn, cellulose waste, etc. The waste grain mash product will be sold directly to local dairy farms. The carbon dioxide waste will be sold to the food and beverage industry. The plant will start operations in the 4th quarter of this year. Four more plants under construction. Has ready made market and will have tax breaks.

Highly volatile . . . . will make a couple hundred basis points jump in the next week
Recs
Bearish on ethanol in general.
Recs
came to the conclusion that ethanol is a stupid technology on my own, and based on the opinion of many engineers who are smarter than me...
Recs
I'll share more thoughts when I have a trackrecord. However, gas prices are going to go down a bit more and then climb back up - even though PEIX has had problems, they're tied to gas prices rising or falling.
Recs
Eldrehad told me too and he is smarter than me so I will.
Recs
PEIX is building new ethanol plants in California to meet the demand of the new standards for mixed fuel. By locating on the west coast and using local crops they will reduce their raw cost to transport materials and the end product. When cellulose based ehanol processing becomes economical they will be an established supplier and ready to make the most of the more efficient technology.
Recs
ethanol will be mandated by federal and state govt's.
Recs
It's coming! Ethanol is novel and exciting and a relief t oour constant diatribe about oil. Whether or not it will be more fuel efficient is a good question.
Recs
ethanol is going to be a fuel of the future even if 50% of gasoline is only 10% ethanol. Big play for Ca. and west coast.
Recs
Push is on for ethenol production and this one out West has some big investors. Once accepted by automotive giants and public demand and process becomes economically feasable it will be successful with modification of present models and new car lines. Change is sometimes difficult!
