Preferred stocks and 8% dividend.

Invests in preferred stocks in the Financial sector. A great high yield investment for income oriented investor. The sector took a hit during the Financial crisis, but now that the Federal government has stepped in (and in many cases backed several of these companies), I think its a good speculation. At least holders of PFF have the common shareholders of these companies in front of them.

Preferred stock ETF that gives dividends like a bond but can appreciate like a stock.

bank stocks, particularly preferred stocks should recover to 2007 levels fairly quickly.

Yield play -- I think that the market is so fearful and depressed right now that the preferred shares of many companies are much lower than they deserve. This also plays to the CAPS rules, as dividend payments lower the starting price. I don't have much experience with preferred shares, so this is a way to test that space.

Preferreds should hang

ETF tracking preferred stocks of S&P500 companies that is 86% in financials. Once the credit starts flowing again these beaten up companies should start to bounce back. In the meantime, the 11% yield is nice.

Preferred stocks...you gotta love the safety and the possiblity of hitting it big. I think that is a good combination in this market, in spite of the fact that you could miss out on common stock major gains.
