Procter and Gamble, I've known about this company since I was a kid, always go for what people cannot live without. The HOUSEHOLD items... you can live without gas in your car, but you can't live without detergent [clothes dirty :-X]

Great company that is a household name. The Price of Oil is driving up cost and companies are adjusting their books to make up the difference, thus as always passing that burden on us the consumers.

I just counted all the P&G products in my bathroom and there were 10 of them, and that does not include any other bathroom in my house, my kitchen, my laundry room, etc... People buty their products, and will continue to do so even if the economy goes sour.

PG's products show up in retailers nationwide. Semi-trucks haul the freight. Gas prices are moving upward. As gas prices move down, PG's price should move up. Direct correlation between freight costs taking a bite out of profit margins and PG's profitability.

Obviously PG is a very cyclical stock that almst mimics the S & P, so very hard to call if it will outperform or underperform and the difference shouldn't be much. PG has gained some momentum as of late and based on earning and financials that momentum should last at least a few months.

Try and live a week without using any of this company's products. You will be shocked to see how difficult it would be... A great long term investment for bull or bear markets. I still plan on shaving every day and wash my hair even if there is a recession, so I will be a customer and a shareholder.
