PLK is an actively managed ETF that holds high quality AAA short term (about 1.8 year average duation) debt obligations. This debt consists mainly of U.S. Treasuries and corporate bonds. It has been around since the spring of 2008 and has consistently stayed between a price range of $24 to $26. It is almost like an ETF version of a money market fund. It currently yields about 2.2%.
Be aware of its low trading volume. Most days it trades fewer than 10K shares, so I suggest using a limit order for buying and selling this ETF. (Check out Vanguard's BSV ETF if you want something similar with more liquidity.)
This ETF should continue to have a flat price chart. My underperform assignment is due to my projection that the S&P 500 will rise relative to PLK.
