While I'm bullish on almost all the oils, this one is different. EV/EBITDA is way too high - in fact, it is too high in almost every "value" measurement I could find. That's o.k. if they somehow have a secret key to unlock golden reserves - and maybe they do. But the fact that they are selling 3 ...More

It is drilling productively in the Barnett Shale, Permian Basin (of West Texas and New Mexico), and other areas. CAGR is 42%. They're using modern methods, growing their proven reserves, in short, doing everything right as far as I can tell.

While I'm bullish on almost all the oils, this one is different. EV/EBITDA is way too high - in fact, it is too high in almost every "value" measurement I could find. That's o.k. if they somehow have a secret key to unlock golden reserves - and maybe they do. But the fact that they are selling 3 MM shares doesn't bode well for their ability to produce cash thus far.





This one may triple and I may kick myself, but I still don't see why this stock deserves 3x the P/E of a ConocoPhillips.
