Banking is due for a recovery, this one is strong since the govt gave them NCB's assets.

QUICK! Pick a reason to exit a market that has risen too fast and gotten too expensive. Here are three to choose from: buying power is getting exhausted according to DeMark indicators; daily sentiment indicators are 88% bullish; RSI’s and oscillators are over extended.

PNC is suffering due a weakening of its credit portfolio due largely to the residual issues from Natonal City's acquired portfolio. As these bad loans are scrubbed from the books, PNC will find itself with its traditionally strong franchise with an expanded footprint obtained on the cheap.

I am buying banks right now... the market will turn and the strong banks will eat the weak ones for huge profit.

The entire financial sector is still iffy. The fallout from TARP and all the retro active restrictions that came with the bailout money is still a big unknown.

this is a solid bank with great leadership in Jim Rohr. They did not get tied up in the bad loan business. They saved National City and will turn them around.

They need some time to overcome the acquisition of National City, but will come out on top with a strong market share.

Claims they are well-capitalized and seeking new credit customers... Plus they grew revenues in 2008. Not bad. I've also been a retail customer since 1997.

Comparatively solvent other than surprises with NCC acquisition, with locations and major markets which were either (1) dull and less involved in the real estate bubble, or (2) its DC service area which should be comapratively stable

Some fear that PNC became toxic with the NCC deal. I believe they got a steal! This well run conservative bank that will increase its fee income as it grows its footprint.
