Everyone who says high food and energy prices will kill this stock ignore the fact the food prices for consumers have been rising. Company has excellent cash flow. Expanded menu really offers customers more choice and reasons to return. The run-up was too much, but the sell-off has MORE than made up for it. Really good buying point between $44-48.

Love the risk reward here too. A few dollars down at most. Great cash flow, buying back franchised stores will really pump up eps. $60 stock by spring 2008.

Food, beverage, and restaurant stocks will underperform because of the current high cost of food and energy prices.

Panera is a leader in the quick-casual segment of the restaurant business. More important, it's same-store sales improved 2.3% in June which likely will lead to earnings upgrades and brokerage upgrades. Analysts say the company should be able to beat same-store sales numbers in the second half of the year (if the cost of gasoline doesn't rise too far). Currently bargain-priced, the stock could get back into the 55 to 60 range within a year.

I love the restaurants. The price has been hammered because of reducing an earnings estimate. It was hammered too far.

Debt free company who is going through hiccups. Exceptional customer experience to go along with NO DEBT; cannot get much better. Current weakness is a buying opportunity.

great management, good product, nice retail presence. Expect a large boost this summer, both from new products and unseasonably warm summers.

Panera is a strong brand whose brand loyalty I compare to Starbucks with growth potential. They have only 1,000 stores in only 38 states. With its low price there is no way I can keep my hands off.
