+ Watch PRLB
on My Watchlist
PRLB is creating a new market for injection molded prototypes and products just like FedEx did for overnight delivery
Previous Rulebreaker that has taken awhile to buy into! 3D printing is HOT!
this company will continue to aggressively expand. They are a company without major competition. Based in a business friendly state and they own their niche.
Excellent article from Seeking Alpha....maybe it is time to sell short?"Priced For Perfection, Proto Labs May Be On The Verge Of A Growth Scare"Aug 16 2013, 09:30 | 5 comments | about: PRLB "Editor's notes: Fund manager Keubiko reads between the lines of PRLB's filings and finds many warning signs for the company's future growth. The high valuation offers significant downside and a short opportunity."
I believe that Proto Labs will be able to exploit 3D printing to make cost effective prototypes
They are growing quickly and the market size is around $6B, so they have a lot of room to grow.
Interesting product niche.
ProtoLabs is NOT a 3-D printing company and although they are a good company the growth potential is limited.
I've been in my own business for over 30 years. From my prospective Proto Labs is a forward thinking company has a great business plan & model. It is perfectly positioned in its self to be the go to company for rapid prototyping.
3D printing is the future and all companies asso with it will go along for the ride. Some will really profit and others will get bought out

Wave of the future in manufacturing shorten concept to market time by months
It's part of the 3D Printing wave of the future in manufacturing.
It's a necessary supplier
Young player in essentially new industry, plus riding coattails of more famous industry companion
I believe that with technology like this they will revoulotionize big buinesses.Like the maker of hotwheels guess how much easier it will be to make older parts with finess. The only probelm with the buiness is in the future is that there will be people who will copy brand buinesses and sell them as knockoffs. Therefore companies such as Nike will be run into the ground because of these copiers.
Has the potential to move on up, towards the area of DDD.
As an engineer, Protolabs is my go-to company for prototypes and product components. Their excellent customer service and quick turn-around makes them one of the fastest growing injection-molders in the country. With their recent move into the 3d printing space, and a shift in manufacturing returning from China to the U.S., I can't see this stock going anywhere but up.
