somewhat warty BDC, but very cheap on a book value basis when compared to grand-daddies American Capital and ALD. Management should be able to beat the S&P 500 over time.

Hellacious insdier buying, huge yield, barely trading more than book value, and still growing at a nice clip. How can you pass this up?
Recs
Strong 52 week steady growth will continue for at least another year (IMHO). Wouldn't be surprised to see $20-$22 over the next year.
Recs
Good business model focusing on niche segemnt and heavy insider buying

Great yield, insider trading by company exec, energy investments at a time when the press is full of stories of energy sufficency
Recs
Prospect energy has a strong portfolio and has positioned its investments in an area that has a high demand. The need for oil and gas may dip from time to time but will not go away until we find affordable alternatives or reduce our useage. Does anyone see either one of these two things happening soon?

PSEC appears to be a well-run, financially lucrative energy services & investment company with a promising business model, a generous quarterly dividend yield (est. 2.2%), and a reasonable payout ratio (Yahoo! Finance est @ 70%). Unfortunately, technical indicators suggest the stock may be in for a near term correction, most likely following any weakness in the oil/gas sectors. Of particular note though is that Y.F. estimates book value at 14.8, presenting both income & value investors an opportunity to buy-in with a greater margin of safety should its share price continue to drop ST. I am long on the stock but do not expect it to perform well ST.

Basically an investment company tht looks to grow earnings
Recs
By making savvy loans to small/mid sized firms in the energy sector, PSEC puts out a very nice 9% yield. It is likely that the energy sector is due for a significant pullback, since oil prices are hyped up for psycological reasons. However, demand in China and India will likely keep the pressure on to develop or enhance sources of energy in world. This is a good tracking stock for that underlying demand - not the hype. The potential for growth, coupled with a sweet yield makes this stock a winner in my opinion.
