Pricesmart operates in a macroeconomic landscape marked by robust growth fueled by an expanding infrastructure specifically the Panama Canal.

I live in Costa Rica and understand what Pricesmart is to the latino market. EVERY day, literally EVERY DAY, there is a line out the door to open, the parking lots stay full ALL DAY LONG until closing. Not to mention that personally it is one of the only places I can buy things and not feel like I am paying through my nose in VAT, which is common in Latin America. The business model is sound, the leadership is who made the business model to begin with (Price, et al), and there are plenty of green field growth opportunities on this one. Just compare their fundamentals to industry averages...it's all there.

PriceSmart is coming out of a dip and is trading well below its 3 year trend. My choice for Best Buy Now.

Though they are a strong company with a successful business model, their competition is significant enough that they do not deserve their 30p/e ratio, especially considering new wharehouse club openings haven't been coming very fast

I just listened to the January 10, 2013 PSMT conference call and I am encouraged by their reported 2012 growth and forward looking growth metrics for 2013. In view of strong revenue increases in existing stores in Columbia, PSMT will open three more stores in Columbia in 2013. This expansion along with reported expected improvements in South American economic forecasts for 2013 bodes well for next year's returns. Management is happy with the very good performance of their South American stores although they see Caribbean operations not quite as rosy. Because of the steady growth seen in past quarters management continues to seek out real estate for new stores to open in 2014 in the larger metropolitan areas in Columbia and other regions where Pricesmart operates.
All in all the conference call sounded promising and I look forward to PSMT to outperform in 2013.

The "Costco of LA"?
Recs
insulated from Europe and China, Costco model breeds consumer loyalty, part of an emerging middle class in Latin America. Plus it's come down heavy in the recent months, I'm putting my money where my mouth is
Recs
Latin American version of Costco will bloom spectacularly like a late blooming flower

Fool screen with ROE high, ltDepbt=zero, earnings up for 3 years 10%, etc.Market is around 1300 - I see support at 1200 although we are in downtrend and Europe is scary. It's a game - hope for the best.

P/E and P/B a bit high... but solid earnings/revenue growth. "The Costco of Latin America"
Recs
They've shown they are careful in their growth plans. Now they are getting ready to turn up the steam and watch out... the potential is huge!
Recs
I believe that PSMT will outperform over the next few years because of its business model, and its strategy on opening new stores. The rate of new store openings is, in my opinion, a little too conservative. However, I foresee this to increase, especially in South America. I consider PSMT a buy.
Recs
I'm long on this in my real money account
Recs
PSMT have so much room to grow, compare to COST and WMT. Every household is buying bulk of items. CEO came from COST so he knows how to get higher Net Income.

Costco Latino.

This one just has the perfect potential as they move into new markets in South America - it's a no-brainer, even if it doesn't triple, it's going to go up!
