This EFT is actively managed by a robot, using a black-box "quant" algorithm to do its stock-picking. Whatever the formula, this EFT has returned 10%/year, which has earned it a 5-star Morningstar rating.
Looking at the chart, this EFT returns dramatically higher-highs and lower-lows than the SP500, but up until now, it seems to avoid crashing out too far below the SP500 benchmark. This commends it as a pick, at least in the longer run, and if we are going to have a market operating on a business-as-usual assumption.
Given the very, very bad market we are seeing recently, I want to watch this issue going forward, looking for how the algorithm handles extreme adversity in the general market. I'm not sure I would put my real money down at this point, but I suspect if I get a sense there is a bull coming back, I will load up with this one.

Growth underperforms the market. Don't ignore growth stocks, but I think growth indexes might not be the best investments, unless you're using them as a diversification tool.
