Another ETF I think will outperform the S&P. With companies like: Pfizer, Merck, Boeing, Eli Lilly, Verizon, Occidental Petroleum & Disney as some of its top holdings, these companies will be around for a while.

upshot is that it has the classic stocks that can't afford on my own all at once.... closest to a basement sale that I could dream of but not much to reading to support me so I'm going on the limb as a noob

Yet another PowerShares ETF. This one is large cap, value oriented. I'm not too sure of it outperforming the S & P, but it should come close if it doesn't outperform.
