With Global warming such a hot topic. Companies doing the green thing. Investors want to ride this wave. I’m big on ETF’s. They diversify for you. Softening any down swings and running on trends.

While it's tough to pick within the sector without detailed knowledge, it's not that hard to see the mentality that drives alternative energy markets. Whatever the day-to-day impressions are, moved by today's price of a barrel or a gallon, the trend is definitely upward here.

first one in woo! this is an etf that tracks the clean edge index, cleantech stocks in the solar, wind, biofuel, and fuel cell industries. I think these sectors will greatly outperform the market over the long time - which is why I'm here.

The mid-cap weighting and diversity should cut down on the volatility of picking out companies individually, but I still expect this index to be bumpy.

I don't actually own any of this in my real portfolio yet, but do own PZD.

It's currently quite heavy on WFR.
