CNG and LNG use in the trucking industry is going to take off. The need for light weight fuel tanks for vehicles as well as fueling stations is increasing. These guys are in a position to sky rocket.

Cutting fuel costs

"(With) as much fuel as we (all) use, it’s a no-brainer," Conner said.

Conner said the school system has more than 200 buses, and if it converted half of those buses to run on CNG it would save $8.2 million over 13 years — the approximate life of a school bus.

Conner said he spent time with officials at the Leon County School System — in Tallahassee, Fla., — who said they saved $6,500 on fuel per bus per year.

He said CNG tanks have to be inspected and certified every three years and the tank walls are very thick. Even if a tank is punctured, he said, the gas will simply leak straight up.

Covington’s five trucks will be split among city departments, with two going to the police, one to engineering, one to the water department and one to the electric utility department. While people may ask why the police department needs two trucks, Conner said the police department often has to borrow trucks from other city departments.

He said the trucks are used to transport road barriers for events and collect evidence from crime scenes.

Construction on the CNG fueling facility is ahead of schedule, and Conner expects it to be open early next year.

I don't think that the QTWW will outperform the market because i'm not convinced of their competitive advantage (I do hold a small position and would love to be proven wrong), but I'm a long term believer in QTWW after last year when I found the company and began reading quarterly reports and listening to management's discussions during conference calls. From their financials it was clear that this company tried to expand into every niche of green/renewable energy that they could get their hands on -- they suffered greatly for it. Because of their vast appetite to expand into multiple green markets at once, it was clear that they needed to get rid of several lags on revenue. Management announced a turnaround and they have been slowly shrinking their business by selling off the low-performing wind farms, distancing themselves from the Fiskar car flop, and focusing on a core business of their light weight NG storage tanks. It's going slow, but it is going in the correct direction for a turnaround. I think a lot of investors saw the Fiskars electric car as another Tesela, but all that sentiment has gone down the drain with the stock price. Basically it looks like all the sentiment and speculation surrounding Electric cars and wind energy is leaving or has left. now it is a focus and belief in their core business that will begin to push QTWW toward growth again. The biggest bet here for me is whether they can weather "the storm" until the market takes notice of their turnaround.

I'm a big fan of T-Bone Pickens. I was in Seoul, Korea last month. 30% of their economy is powered by natural gas. It's pretty cool that you can buy a Hyundai Sonata with Natural Gas. It's super clean and a lot cheaper than petrol. Seoul has tons of Natural gas stations everywhere. Its no wonder that the largest Natural gas floating rig is being built by Shell in Seoul , Icheon harbor. Check it out. It's huge. QTWW is a speculative pick on natural gas tanks.

They've been kicking the can for a loan obligation of $10M that is now due mid December. Sooner or later they will dilute in order to pay it.

Quantum has 60 million dollars in cumulative contracts and counting with Fisker. Next reported Quarter is likely to be a humdinger.

There is a Nasdaq hearing on Oct 7th for 180 extension which could negate a reverse split option which would also give them a 180 day extension to comply, shareholders have all ready voted down the RS option once. Quantum doesn't need the RS option to regain compliance convencingly.

New strategic alliance possibly in the works with GM. I would not count Ford out or an unnamed Chinese company but the evidence leans towards GM. The military is actively promoting the CERV which is Quantum's product through a strategic alliance with Tardec.

GM is actively seeking partnerships with companies to gain access to new electric vehicle systems. The technology GM acquired from Quantum for the Volt is out dated. Quantum's new systems was independently rated in Europe last year as being superior.

GM does have a strategic alliance with Quantum and owns preferred stock. The strategic alliance is for gaseous storage products and development but no strategic alliance exists for them in concerns to Quantum's new proprietary drive systems.

Quantum is hiring engineers for a new OEM production system this could be for Fisker's Nina line that will be in testing in 2011 or another OEM as stated above.

Research Hawaii GM and Shell.

Quantum provides the products for GM's Equinox vehicles and supplies the products for Shell hydrogen stations.

Willey coyote's tail is wagging.

Research Lockheed Martin and Quantum. I would be surprised if the Federal Government doesn't throw Quantum a bone from the USPS or the Military. The Army is actively promoting the CERV vehicle which is Quantum's product through a strategic alliance with TARDEC.

The sales of the Fiskar, which Quantum is the OEM and part owner, is sold out for 2009 and orders are being taken for 2010. Even if the industry is young the outlook for future opportunities, not only with autos, is positive. Whoever winds up in office is pushing the US to invest further into alternative power and Quantum is diverse enough to have growth potential.
