True, Rite Aid has their bag of problems, however at <3 P/E the stock is extremely cheap. Their brand name alone is worth more than that. Plus, at $2B market cap they are an easy acquisition target by Walgreen or CVS, which seem overvalued and might be tempted to cash in their high stock prices by sweeping up competition.

the number one drugstore chain on the east coast (once eckkerd buy is closed) will not be a sub 5 dollar stock. Impossible. Company's cost savings and synergy target of 150 mil is WAY understated, leaving room for massive earnings beats for the next 4 quarters.

Drug stores should do well, even if RAD continues its relatively slow growth rate, i still see it outpacing S&P

This drugstore chain is deeply penetrated and poised to gain grown on it's top rivals. I strongly believe it has hit it's all time low. The drug sector should outperform most retail.

Heavily leveraged #3 drugstore chain, trading at a low multiple to potential earnings 1-2 years down the road, will be a homerun if they aren't choked by a mountain of debt. High interest rates would do them in, but 2/3 of income coming from prescription drugs should protect them from recessionary slowdown so they are a play on recession and the low interest rates that would probably go with it.

I think its undervalued. Their turnaround is well in place. If they can handle the debt after buying Eckard, the price should easily double.

It's a survivor. It's managed to (very) gradually rise over the past few years, and I think it's ready for the new acquisition to nove it to the next level.
