I can't see a company this size staying behind in the markets forever. Yeah they had their scandal but a closer look shows a company that belongs in the ranks of Walgreen and CVS and is making every effort to achieve the status of a respectable group, but are still being punished for a small group of criminals.

After languishing in the upper $4s for as long as I can remember, today's jump past $5 signals possible mid-term movement upwards, taking advantage of the Christmas season + 4th quarter. (Disc.: I don't own RAD, but I would consider trading it if I only had limited funds available, and could only invest in $5 stocks.)

Leverage economies of scale. Customer service, convenience resulting in increased sales, lower costs, reduction of debt over the long term and increased profit.

Finally some growth after many efforts to increase prescription drug and health companies to place coverage at their local pharmacies. Management is starting a good foundation within the company through key personnel positions being upgraded from outside sources.

Third largest pharmacy chain that double their size last year in aquasitions. Not affected by Walmart bargain generic drugs in Florida. Rite-Ain is not in Florida yet. Tons of room for growth and small enough to change and innovate quickly.

RAD will be in the rough for a few years because of its E-B acquisition, but after fully integrating the two companies together, it will be able to better compete with WAG and CVS. And with the baby boomers aging, pharmacies will be bringing in more revenues. As for the WMT 300+ $4 precription porgram, it shouldn't have any real effect on pharmacies as customers will find that the drugs aren't really a bargain after all. Also, $4.50 is a steal for a company with a positive ROE and ROA and other great financials. BUY!

A good, traditional drug store. Unfortunately the competition is just too tough.

If Wal-Mart gets it's prescription drug program going in all states. It spells doom for stores like this.
