In "The Future for Investors" Jeremy Siegel points out why the tried and true beat the bold and new--it's usually because they are cheap and pay nice dividends. The best of the last 50 years: Phillip Morris/Altria. Their return was like 19% compounded annually for 50 years! Try that on an excel spreadsheet with a starting amount of only $1000 and see where you end up. (The answer is almost $6 MILLION).

The threat of lawsuits is there, among other problems, but here we have a P/E less than 10 and dividend yield of 7%. I'll take it in CAPS.

A defensive tobacco stock yielding over 7% and smaller than industry leaders such as Philip Morris, British American Tobacco, and Japan Tobacco with potential buyout from ex-US firms looking to expand into USA.

Cigarettes, cigarettes, cigarettes. All around me I see the smoke signals that this particular vice is going nowhere. We are an addicted people, and in this time of strife and uncertainty the smokers will continue to drive this stock back up.
