I view the Alaska strategy as a long-term strategy. Sure there are more immediate revenue opportunities, but they will eventually dry up leaving Alaska as a prime location. RDS will be there when the opportunity unveils itself. Until, then enjoy the 5%+ dividend of this European major.

BIG OIL :)

Cheapest major oil stock. Evolving technology will dicover a lot more oil. PE= 8, 5.1% div yield.

A global company which suffered from the European sentiment. I compare its performance to XOM or CVX. In my opinion, RDS can outperform them after underperfom in the past year mainly because of bad sentiment for European stocks

P/E, yield, exploration = asymmetric risk/payoff

We're still oil-based, will be for a long time, and Shell is exploring heavily in Africa, the next major location for reserves, especially East Africa.

The high dividend yield is attractive. The company recently announced a stock buyback of Class "B" shares. American restrictive exploration policies are favorable to continued strength in oil pricing. Global recession appears to be a given, so contrarian thought favors increased demand for materials and energy.

Looking forward to their relationship with Westport Innovations. If natural gas is truly embraced, this alliance could produce big results.

Royal Dutch Shell has invested all its huge profits in the last years in the development of upstream resources and gas-to-liquids plants. These investments will deliver rising profits in the coming years, and with the oil price remaining stubbornly high conditions are favorable.
I expect the stock price to rise along with the profits. Also, the dividend is very nice, and it is sustainable as the debt is very low and it is currently only about half of the profit.

Royal Dutch will be reaping the rewards of it's gigantic investment program over the comming years. Projects like Dubai NG have come on line and will mean billions & billions of additional cashflow & profit.

RDS-A - simple idea here:
1. PEG of about 0.65
2. Dividend north of 5.5%
3. 22% off it's 52 wk high
Strong stable company who's stock price is being hit right now by I believe unfounded fears that oil prices will stay down. With this kind of dividend and a cheap P/E I'm willing to watch and wait.
