Research Frontiers, Inc. (NASDAQ:REFR)

"...technology and devices to control the flow of light". I like the business and i believe in the importance of controlling the flow of light, but, in our days, i think this company is doomed due to lack of cash-flow (and profit, of course).

Pullback Likely on Relatively Weak Stock

REFR bashing is a Motley Fool tradition. REFR is a loooooooooong term investment, with the emphasis on looooooooong. Don't lose sleep or time - it may be your grandchildren who see the fortune but if it's any compensation, they will donate college libraries in your name.

Mercedes, the company that just announced their new slogan,"the best or nothing" also just announced their first in a new line of " magic " options. It's called "magic sky control" and Research Frontiers makes it.
If the public likes it, it could start a game change.

I am a novice investor, and I am only 15, so my word may not be as trust-worthy as many other investors, but I believe this stock will outperform the S&P on one condition and one condition only: the deal between them and Mercedes goes through, which will most likely happen.

Down today and at a good price to buy it up.

Refr has been around for 43 years or so. It has been touting its SPD as the 'wave of the future'. It has something like 30 licencees, yet has failed to produce any real income with its 'one-of-a-kind' particle suspension glass. How it has remained as a viable equity is its only real accomplishment. The fact that it has not been delisted from the NASDAQ or at least sent to the pink sheets is truly amazing. How investors continue to buy this sham of a stock is not only incredible, but also pathetic.

Other than the reasons mentioned above, I think it is a great buy...Not! lol

I wish I had shorted this stock years ago- but I suppose its not too late. I mean it will probably be around for another 40+ years. My goodness. How Refr has managed to survive all these years is truly a miracle of the ages.

QUESTIONABLE MARKETING MAY KILL THIS DEAL

Company has developed windows that can change their tint from clear to very dark with the press of a button. REFR has a patent on this technology and when a major auto company picks up on the technology this stocks price could surge towards triple digits.

I feel like raising my score a bit.. Shamelessly piling on. Notice that most of the outperform pitches have been made by players with scores below 60? 'Nuff said.

I've been watching this stock for several years. All the fundamentals indicate it's a worthless company; however, they appear to have some patents that may be of value. Someone will make a lot of money on this technology, but given their track record and approach, I don't think it's going to be REFR. Does anyone have any real insight into this technology and the particular patents that these guys have? Do their patents actually cover any technology that is a viable process for variable window tinting?

End user products deploying the technology will be introduced to the market.

They don't have any revenue to speak of, but the investors seem to like this one for the time being, so I do too. I will jump out on signs that they have caught on that the company's only earnings are from selling stock.
