With residential renovation becoming more popular and entire TV channels dedicated to it, RPM and their many brands will benefit everytime a contractor makes a purchase at a home store.

A great company you haven't heard of but whose brands you have - DAP and Rust-Oleum are just a few. Owns hundreds of brands/products related to residential and commercial construction and repair. Their brands tend to be number 1 or 2 within their niche markets. Fairly steady business (70% of revenue is tied to repair/maintenance projects) and about half of their growth comes from acquisitions. RPM does an outstanding job of letting the companies it acquires run their own operations, but helps them with distribution/investment. Culture is outstanding and the company has raised their dividend for 41 straight years and counting!

Someday Berkshire will buy this company. That's what I have thought for the past decade. Maybe it will happen in the next several years. Hey, Berkshire bought Wrigley at a huge premium just weeks after I sold out my position.

RPM has a broad base of products supporting both home builder and commercial building construction, as well as excellent, probably market-leader in several brands of home repair coatings. Either way - fix-up or buy a new home, this company will soon substantially increase sales and profits. Solid dividends increase annually makes it a great retirement stock.

Rust-O-Leum's new Neverwet product is not only remarkable, but is getting a great marketing campaign on social media. It's sure to have a positive impact on the company in the next few months.

A good, old, basic Midwestern company with a simple model--they sell stuff we need to build things (big or little). I use their products, see them used more often, and see them in various stores (Lowe's, Home Depot, Menard's). I first considered them as an investment back in the 1990's when I began using their products. They have a solid history of dividends and dividend growth with a reasonable payout ratio. As investments go, they're boring. I like that.

It's got a great yield and has been a steady dividend distributor over decades. Besides, everyone needs spray paint for those home improvement projects!
