This is heavy in the Energy sector, which is Russia’s strong point. It is also weighted in Industrial materials. This sector is good for the continued growth of Russia as well as other developing countries. Russia’s GDP is predicted to grow by 6.4 % in 2008. That’s among the top 5 highest in the world.

Long term strategic advantages for Russia: Huge natural resources for export. Booming Asia in the east, expanding EU in the west. Multiple drivers for long term growth, especially if they are able to reverse population decline through managed immigration.
