The technical edge of 4G and Sprint's announcement of addressing their balance sheet is driving the share price. On its face however, the company has 2 strikes against it. In a recovering recession it appears their target customers are higher income service-oriented clients. Having a glance at their service plans not only does T match them, but has more value for the middle market. Secondly, competition is becoming more fierce and I see problems for all major carriers as they will be encroached by the minor carriers soon and stuck with possible massive debt.

I'll follow the analyst upgrade on this and vote for an outperform. Sprint has been in trouble for quite some time, but this may be the bottom.
I also think Sprint could be a takeover candidate for one of the more fluid providers out there.

IMO: Lack of incentives for sales people, poor working environment, lack of promoting based on merit and performance, allowing those who had experience and years of above average performance to depart via voluntary severance while keeping managers who continue to post sub-average performance, failure to position company versus competition, poor use of capital as evinced by historic low ROE's, poor capital structure, will lead to BK.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a $20 Sprint stock in 4-5 years. Their 4G network is the first and is rappidly expanding, their plans are very competitive, their phones will be improving, and their ads are the best in the industry.

waiting to see how wimax rolls on sprint.

A lot of hope or hype concerning this company's come back.
For a well known company to have this high a percentage gain in one day suggests a lot of speculation. Once this most recent market rally fades, this stock will continue its downward course.
Recs
Tons of cash on-hand, customer retention moving back into positive numbers. Acquisition of Virgin Mobile imminent, which in itself may require a stock buy-back. Possible acquisition of Sprint from European communications co. looking to grow. This stock is set to regain some of the value lost by an over-reactive Wall Street

I'm basing this pick on the performance of the company in whole.

Sprint is well positioned with Wimax. They don't have the data gobbling I phone that kills band with... As they roll out more Wimax they can increase laptop users, and eventually more customers. Hurt by Nextel, the stock definately has it's issues. But bought cheap enough one could positing to profit well in the long run.

Cost-cutting operations and service improvements will start driving an improvement in image.
There is very little downside while there is a lot of upside.
Recs
They will not have any debt payments in the near future and they have plenty of cash.

Totally ridiculous at this price. It is an insult to the stock. It is at it's early March level, without any doomsday news to go with it's decline. Only way is up.

Downward Momentum

Since the acquire of iPCS for $426M, it will probably reach $6, in 12 months

Sprint is great cell phone service plan. My brother has been with them for over 5 years no complaints. He is one of many happy customers. Not everyone worries about the newest blackberries and iphones. target $5
