Big boys and Softbank are buying.

Extended and lousy market share. I could be wrong and someone could buy them but I will take that risk

DISH is looking to buy Sprint for 25.5 B.
Recs
Sprint is getting ready to pounce.

Softbank-Sprint-Clearwire merger seems more likely as CLWR draws on financial assistance from S that DISH opposed. S is prepares to close the deal with new borrowing. A successful deal makes S a very formidable US wireless provider.

I've been sitting of it for several years 50K shares - patience - 500% profit if I sell now....., no I'll wait.....

Meger or takeover. after $12.00

Still need to wind down the Nextel infrastructure and therefore many write downs will surface in the near term. Also, more time is needed for the new LTE technology reaches more customers.

when an industry becomes a commodity, the most cost efficient firm wins

I just bought back in. The CEO is heavily behind this company and just purchased another 20,000 shares on Oct 26th for 3.53/share on the open market. Let's see where this goes... $5.50 still looks pretty cheap to me, and there's just too much money in the smartphone/wireless market for me to pass this up.

With the new cash from Softbank Sprint will reduce debt, increase roll out and leverage relationships with Apple, and Yahoo.

What the hell, bound for disaster...

Sprint has the service (unlimited), they have the spectrum (CLWR) and now that have the capital (softbank)... Sprint is a screaming buy and hold for this fool whose looking for long term value
Recs
I've been holding this in my real portfolio since the $2.50 range, but for some reason never added it to the CAPS profile. At this point some may say that its value is priced in, but I don't think that's the case. Every day more good news comes out regarding Sprint, and their earnings next week are unlikely to change that pattern.
I'm looking for a nice earnings spike, up into the $6.50 range. At that point I might start considering selling both my CAPS and real portfolio.

The truth is this: Sprint is not another Apple or Google. It has not fulfilled some niche in the market; it has many rivals that are trying to do the same thing. Currently (as of Oct. 11), the chart seems to be flat lining over about 1.5 months which tells me that it is currently overvalued due to stock holder's positions. I believe this stock will curl back down within the next few months.

Use this down-day and get in or back into this company.
Recs
CEO turning it around and only carrier with unlimited everything, not to mention they have the Iphone now too.
Recs
The new IPhone 5 will push this stock higher in the next few days/months.
Recs
Sprint is a long term play, but I see it building itself back up with the monsters around $20-$28 within 3 years after Verizon and AT&T customers realize the importance of unlimited data plans.
