Sprint has admittedly had a rough time for the past five years or so, but expanded coverage across the US has put them on the right path towards reclaiming the market share they've lost. Their offering for unlimited data at low prices is a key differential against AT&T and Verizon. There's also potential for them to merge with T-Mobile, another player in the industry.

Softbank's Masayoshi Son will soon be one of the richest men, if not the richest man in the world when Alibaba Group has its IPO. Goldman Sachs recently estimated Alibaba at $150 Billion while McQuerie valued the IPO at $200 Billion.

I've been a Sprint customer for 12yrs and I can attest to the atrocious service. The last year with Sprint has been a horrible experience. I've spent many times screaming at my phone and its inability to hold a call. My contract is up Jan 2014 and I'm jumping ship. I think it will take 1yr plus for their service to catch up with their lofty goal of having LTE available to most of their customers. What I won't do for Sprint service I will do for Sprint stock, that's hold on to it for the next few years. I believe that Sprint's acquisition of Clearwire and Softbank's acquisition of Sprint will put Sprint in a position, in a few years, to dominate the domestic market. Softbank President Masayoshi Son is an aggressive visionary who dominated the Japanese market and will throw his money and muscle behind Sprint to do the same thing to the US market. To buy Sprint now at such a low price, I believe an investor will be getting a company that will quadruple its share price within a few years and become a major player in the US telecommunications industry.

S owns two of Sprint's main competitors: Boost and Virgin Mobile. No wonder earnings are terrible when they are primarily competing on price against themselves!

Softbank might be able to turn the company around if they sack the incompetent management team and make the necessary investments to compete with VZ and T on quality instead of price, but it's a long shot.

They have an opportunity to "one up" their competition and the benefit of going last so they can see what the other company's were offering. If they can come up with a better upgrade program they stand to increase market share.

Sprint's 4G LTE buildout has taken quite some time, but we could be just a few months and a good ad campaign away from serious subscriber growth.

Based on my analysis in this article: http://beta.fool.com/evanbuck/2013/07/29/will-t-mobile-jump-over-competitors/41715/ I expect Sprint to underperform for at least the next year or so.

With Softbank and Sprint working together, I will give this stock an estimate price of at least $8 by the end of 2013.

Their Extensive Spectrum, MOST IN THE COUNTRY, combined with their Unlimited Data Plans, which is unheard of these days with VZ or T, make this a compelling BUY @ this price of $6/share!!!

Though Sprint is a major player in the moble phone industry, its lack of a broad coverage in rural areas and slightly behind the powercurve in phone models would seem to tend to hold it up. The saving grace for Sprint is the fact that they are one of the last companies to still offer plans with unlimited data and the fact that they are working to expand their 4G LTE tech and network will work very well for them.
