It has reported good earnings and experienced stock growth for the severql years I have been following the stock. The reputation on the street is good company, good management and good place to work. This should spell success on the open market.
Recs
good fundamentals. large number of employees with security clearance

They have kicked my companys butt for the last year on DOD contracts.

In 2008 Fellow fool ValueArbitrage made an interesting call here. Along with KipLargo's note on the increase in the type of software this company provides to the good ole boys in DOD. On the other hand I guess another way to look at it,is the wars and the need for spying will cease and we sputter out in peace? (BOOM! ) Oh well it was a nice thought anyway.

exposed to and active in some fantastic government opps, border enforcement, and wise not to wallow in trendy opportunities

Huge moat, highly vested ownership and a high growth industry. This stock has huge upside potential. Stock goes to $63.
Recs
This company is very well connected in the defense industry. Solid management. Good outlook for defense and homeland security. Once Wall Street catches on, this stock will take off.
Recs
Very solid large company...currently undervalued after recent IPO.

all the weenies will have cashed-out their gift from the company, leaving only the true investors to stabilize and increase the price.

SAI is a capital light, consistently profitable, defensive business with a dominant competitive position, fortress-like balance sheet and solid long term growth prospects. It also happens to be significantly undervalued. Mgmt. has a long and distinguished paper trail, not to mention multiple levers at their disposal to build shareholder value over the next few years.
I think they can continue to grow sales, improve margins (through their various initiatives), sell off some hidden non-core assets (such as their real estate), or utilize their cash position to buyback stock, pay a dividend or reinvest for growth. This combination of internal operating improvements and value added capital allocation should lead to increasing operating and net margins as the company grows, which will eventually drive significant upside.
Investors who get in at or around today's price are likely to experience a double or more over the next 3-5 years. Outperform.
Recs
non-cyclical cash flows, consistent revenue, high barriers to competition.
Recs
Has a unique position within Department of Defense. Has a consulting model rather than a contractor model. This keeps captial expenditures to minimum and means SAIC can respond quickly to changes in Defense budgets and prioities. SAIC also has a sizeable prescence outside of DOD. The difference will become apparent when DOD experiences the next round of budget cuts (whenever that occurs). A good way to get exposure to DOD stocks.
Recs
The company has solid groundings and will continue to grow despite assertions by some that Democrats will cut spending. Democratic Party control over the gov has not hindered SAIC' strong growth in the past 30+ years thanks to it' Niche services in "high end" security services and technology. Besides, the Democrats can't afford to start slashing spending or they will be accused of weakening the countries security and defense services. They are already struggling to get the chip off their shoulders that they are weak in defense.
Recs
this is going to waffle around 20 for too long to beat the S&P. Plus the democrats are going to start reducing spending on militaristic ventures. Expect SAI to continue to be a profitable company, but don't expect huge gains from the stock.
Recs
1st everyone working for Sai has a vested interest. It's a tremendous Co. and is just beginning to be known. It will be a major play. A book value of over 15 in an $18 stock. A peg ratio of less then 1 and a growth rate of 22 % while the P/E is 18 and the chart looks good. It's just a matter of time. ThisCo. will outperform by far.
Recs
Watch out for this company.Good business model. It's everywhere

Small beans for a big fish.

LOW PE SOLID EARNINGS GROWTH
Recs
Stagnant company, high P/E relative to peers. There are better plays out there.
Recs
It doesn't matter who the next president is, this company will keep winning government contracts. It is very well managed, and cheap! Should hold onto for at least a year.
