sci is on much better footing than it was in the past, with reduced debt, the Alderwoods acquisition, and re-instating its dividend. management responded well with corrective action when faced with a series of negative events in the late nineties, slowly re-building their foundation.

It should be near the end of a mediocre run up. They made some moves away from pre-need sales that will cost them. Merger approved, but will it go well? I am thinking not.

A cash cow. As the population ages more people die and more funerals are done by SCI. Also, possible hedge against the effects of a flu pandemic on stock prices across the board.
