Priced for high growth, in a very economically-sensitive business. If 401k values fall, housing stays in a slump, unemployment persists, then that extra $1000 is going under the mattress, not into one.

I need such a bed. I know my back and neckpain will get better.

This was a Hidden Gem 3 times Pick with a target of around $17. It dropped to below $1 in early 2009 and has risen steadily since then. I still believe in the valuation and their ability to maintain a segment of the premium bed market

Everywhere I look there is advertising for the Sleep Number bed. Either the company has decided to waste a lot of money or the advertising is bringing in the customers.

The bed is better than any other bed

Restructuring efforts of the company have finally paid off and the company is swinging to profitability.

This stock is trading cheap in its industry. It has strong projected earnings per share growth this year. What else can you really ask for?
Recs
Niche specialty sleep product priced right for the market segment. Consumer spending recovery.

I began buying SCSS on 19 November 2008. This was just as two Select Comfort employees were leaving my home after installing a new "sleep number" bed. (I'd researched various beds for about a year and a half before spending the $2,800 plus my wife and I spent on our Select Comfort bed and various accessories.) After an initial investment of about $50,000 in SCSS stock (bought between 19 Nov. 2008 and Jan. 2010), I've kept a very close eye on this company, its products, its management and its stock. I plan to buy MORE SCSS stock as my wife and I can afford it. Andy McKane, Missoula, MT.

I think we have a ways to drop until the economy stabilizes. SCSS looks like it may be turning around, but i'm sure there is a better buy in point to come. I would like to see SCSS selling overseas. The economic downturn is not as bad everywhere in the world. Tempur sells there, but no select comfort. SCSS has potential in the future.

The housing crunch is easing and sales are improving. SC sales depend on these factors!!

Inflated, one of Top 10 biggest gainers in 2009. Won't be able to sustain it.

This is a miracle stock! I picked it at 35 cents per piece and look how high it is LOL omg my only regret is that I spent pennies to buy them and I should have bought like 1000 times that shoot. This is a great company, Buy Buy Buy!

The momentum of August & September should lead to a strong start to the 4th quarter.Company will be thrilled with a zero comp for retail for the year.Since the ending of the retail partner program sales at most nearby stores have seen an increase in sales as this field hated program came to an end after over 3 years.Company is beginning to realize once again that SC stores are a destination store for many consumers.Store closings continue with the current count at just about 400. I just retired (compliments of SC stock increases) from SC after over 10 years of working in the retail field.

I use to own one. But one downfall was you woke at times sweating to the bed. Seems don't mind that.

SCSS is digging out from a deep hole.
