they have announced 2 price increaase over the next 60days totalling 15%. the cost of petro and natural gas is driving the increase. however the packaging industry is going green and sealed air does not have an enviro friedly product

Good company. Might wait till it gets closer to the 20 day moving average. just got downgraded couple days ago, so should be a great stock to pick up on the dip. Don't think it deserved the downgrade, but don't think it will matter anyway. I was waiting for a dip to pick up more, so here's my opportunity.

The price for this stock is still low. I like the movement into the asian markets with its new deal with Japan for medical supplies.

The vast majority of this business is Cryovac food packaging where the business model calls for taking ordinary resins and putting them through capital intensive processes to produce extraordinary product performance - (vs.competitors). It has been winning formula in an unsexy industry for decades... allowing the company to prosper (ex the asbestos sideshow) under the radar.

The problem is that competitors are figuring out how to compete by taking extraordinary resins and putting them through low capital intensive processes to achieve similar results. The advantage being the flexibility to customize products to address differing customer preferences... and the nimbleness to change course quickly.

Meanwhile management is faced with having to make the tough call to either stick with its knitting or go through the painfull process or reinventing itself. They don't have the stomach... and probably not even the right mix of skills to do the latter. The result will be a slow death spiral.
