While IBM/HP can cross-fund the HPC business with their enterprise sales, SGIC has no enterprise revenue...

Emerging from bankruptcy, Silicon Graphics has a stable service revenue stream plus a huge potential upside--patent litigation against ATI, which AMD bought. (NVIDIA and Microsoft already have paid royalties on these patents.) So you get a post bankruptcy play with Net Operating Loss to shield income, a stable service business, and a potential big win with the patent litigation.

I watched this stock tank before, and I'm guessing it'll do it again. It's not that I think the company will disappear, but it'll take more than their recent reorg to avoid another bankruptcy.
