Shuffle Master, Inc. (SHFL)

Downthumb. Good cash flow. Nominal to high debt ratio. Very high margins. 19% growth rate. HIgh valuations. Margin uncertaintly regarding sustainability of gambling growth rate and also of competitive advantage.

Wow, SHFL has been getting hit pretty hard by the market lately - I guess they didn't like the recent acquisition. Well, despite how the masses feel, I think SHFL will outperform the market over the years. While there was/is a short-term effect due to the acquisition, SHFL knows what they are doing and it will only add to the strength of the company (and more importantly, the profitability).

Stargames acquisition provides good exposure to important foreign markets (longer term). I believe that margins will recover as acquisition is digested (nearer term).

Outlook is slim with no new products to release.

Casino expansion fuels growth as well as more efficient equipment reducing number of casino employees needed.

Just a fun to watch stock that's been good to me since ~2002.

they have a patent stranglehold on the vegas strip with their machines. it reduces casinos' costs, speeds up play, and generates recurring revenue for shfl.

With the expansion of Casino's (Macau) and RFID technology, we should see a positive turn in the coming year +

Good company with multiple types of revenue streams (although all within the gaming industry). I think that the stock has been beaten down too far. SHFL deserves some lumps for a bad acquisition and hit-and-miss execution, but the foundation for a strong company is there. I expect the stock to turn around and/or SHFL to be acquired in the next couple of years, but would buy & hold and be okay with either outcome.

Gaming is a great area to be in, especially after the recent online gambling debacle (Grrr, stupid politicians.) But SHFL is not the spot for it. Silly lawsuits, lousy financials, market saturation, growing competition despite their incorrigible patent trolling. Find a better gaming play.

The stock's beat down, and Vegas keeps building. Over the next year, they'll swing around.

Good price for a beaten up stock

Buy into the poker boom -
shuffle master makes the automatic shufflers that are in most poker rooms - as gambling expands to China, shufflemaster should benefit.

I love this company - great play on casino sector. They are the leaders in auto card shufflers, plus with their proprietary games - money. Also, very well run as far as I can see - continually trying to streamline their business model to continually make profits.

earning momentum

Poker is gaining large exposure, which means gambling as a pass time is also getting healthy. err..unhealthy as you might think, but not for SHFL. Gaming in Singapore/Phillipines etc...is opening up and SHFL is right there when they open their doors. Recently at a casino myself, I was happy to see SHFL card shufflers at my Poker table. I think we're just beginning to see the potential of this company.

Recent drop in price make shares a good value, and new gaming opportunities around the world will let this stock continue to grow.
