Siemens AG has grown this year 54%. The interest in sustainable energy and CO2 emission reduction will continue to fuel demand for wind power generation technologies, engineering, construction and operation of these utilities. Increased patent applications, R&D, and production on approved patents will contribute to the expectations of continued growth and out performing the S&P.

Despite a terrible year in 2008, I believe heavy infrastructure companies (especially brand name ones) will profit. I don't short stocks and only buy long. I believe this is a good long candidate, along with:
GE (for healthcare, plastics, gas turbines, electrics)
ABB (electrics--switchgear, automation, cable--and trains)
To be honest, I have no idea about the alleged malfeasance that some have pointed out, and unless we're talking selling babies to bands of speculative wolves, I don't care. Contract negotiations all over the world, and particularly in the third world, are bound to be rife with some sort of corruption.

I like the business, looks like they could take advantage of the increasing shortage of oil with their electric power/railroad business.
In technical terms "me-likey"

There restructuring and moving into the wind generation wave.

SI, a very large and diverse company with excellent management skills will continue to flourish. One small facet of the company will and is taking off very well and that is in the area of hearing aids. Baby Boomers are now at the age and lifestyle where hearing becomes a problem and there are a lot of them out there. Add this to younger generations experiencing high levels of heavy music in cars and Ipods you have a escalation part of SI's business. This pricey stock will continue to rise for some time.
