Siemens is building and maintaining infrastucture for communications and security all over the world. They are heavily involved in developing areas and also in established markets, like the US and Europe. This means that as US growth slows and world economies realign they are well-positioned to keep on profiting wherever they have to do it!

With many developing nations building electrical plants, Siemens is landing contracts for their specialized technology in clean energy production. They also retrofit existing facilities.

Profits are up but sales are down. Short-term gains realized by reducing losses in some divisions.

As long as Siemens rewards managers for destroying business this company is going nowhere. Watch out for more trouble in their communication branch. They got rid of mobile but their divisions "fixed line communication" and "traffic control systems" are just as morose.
